Membership Selection
Second District Membership Selection Committee
NOTICE
MSP training formats feature two options: 1.) “MSP In-person Training” (MIT) hosted on-site at a designated facility; and, 2.) “MSP Virtual Training” hosted via Zoom webinar. Both require advance registration through the MSP registration portals. Monitor the Membership Selection Resources webpage under the Members Login, to find the MSP training registration portals for both MIT and MVT sessions – select just one (1) session. Look for additional session details in MSC notifications issued via email through the Office of the DKRS and published by MSC on the
Membership Selection Resources webpage, and details in your registration confirmation email – mark and save your email.

Important Information
MSC is instrumental in supporting effective administrative oversight and management necessary to ensure effective MSP execution within the Second District (2D). The focus is to provide subject matter expertise through technical guidance, to manage required “MSP Qualified” assessments for Brothers and Chapters, and to determine “MSP Qualified” statuses for Brothers and chapters.

Key Responsibilities
-
Coordinate as appropriate with Corridor Representatives and Chapter Members Coordinators
-
Schedule and conduct 2D MSP training and associated training
-
Publish 2D MSP training attendance list
-
Gather and assess “MSP Qualified” information – Brother and Chapters
-
Determine and publish “MSP Qualified” status – Brothers and Chapters
-
Provide Membership Selection advice, guidance and direction

MSP Qualification Requirements
Brothers must:
-
be fully financial and in good standing with IHQ, 2D and a Second District chapter;
-
have MSC-verified "MSP Certification Test" good through the MSP cycle;
-
have MSC-verified attendance credit for a 2D MSP training session in the Omega Year of the MSP cycle;
-
have MSC-verified completed and submitted Form 9A-12, MSP TrainingAcknowledgment; and,
-
have MSC verified completed and submitted Form 9A-20, Acknowledgement and Indemnification Agreement.
Chapters must have submitted accurate and complete Form 53-B2, Chapter Roster Validation that has MSC-verified “Big 4” – i.e., Basileus, VB, KRS and KF – as “MSP Qualified”.

Key Notes
-
Omega Year: Defined as November 1 to October 31.
-
Training Format: Sessions are conducted as MIT and MVT formats, as announced and published in the MSP training registration portals.
-
Forms: Issued electronically to participants who attend training, subject to MSC verified attendance credit. Copy of completed forms are emailed to Brother, and Brother is responsible to forward copy to their Chapter Membership Coordinator.

MSP Training
-
Registration: Access the Member Login to review the MSP training sessions available and the registrations portals. Select one (1) session to avoid blocking a slot that another Brother may need to register. If you are uncertain as to the date you can attend, then DO NOT try to select one or more that creates confusion for processing. Selecting more than one session will invalidate your registrations, because they will all be cancelled. And selecting a session that results in a “No-show” – i.e., failure to issue timely cancellation notice – will adversely impact your ability to register for a subsequent session.
-
Cancellation: Submitted MSP training cancelation requests not-later-than ten (10) days prior to the session to avoid a No-show determination and to allow sufficient time to afford another Brother to perhaps take the slot. For example, a session schedule for November 11 date must be cancelled by 11:59 p.m. November 1 by email sent to MSC via membershipselection@opp2d.org with Brothers full name, cancellation request stated, and the MSP training session date.

Submission Deadlines
-
Form 53-B2 (the “B2”): Submit within two (2) weeks after the bulk of the chapter Brothers have attended MSP training, and submit an amended B2 just once thereafter, unless and until otherwise coordinated with MSC to add additional Brothers.
-
Responsibility: Chapter Membership Coordinators, working with Chapter MSPLeadership, must ensure their B2 submission is accurate, complete and timely.
